Why men copycat women

What happens to women behind the perfect picture is actually attainable for guys. The first time, men will be subjected to the same amount of scrutiny when the Try Guys re-create famously photoshopped pictures of female celebrities.

Previously, a few brave ladies explored what it felt like to get photoshopped to meet the beauty standards imposed on women, one of many original BuzzFeed experiments focusing on women’s retouching culture. But have men ever truly been put under the same type of intense scrutiny and editing?

In other to fill the standards that are most strikinly unrealistic, the Try Guys decided to create a few iconically  photoshopped pictures of women each guy chose a notorious photoshopped image to.Photoshop wasn’t the only thing that was done, hours were spent prepping and getting their hair and makeup done. The purpose of this is to convincingly re-create the editing techniques used on the women while retaining the male form. The experiment gave the men insight into the societal standards imposed on women for a young age.

1. One of the guys picked an underwear advertisement that was posted in 2015 to Victoria secrets social media pages.

2. Another guy wanted to re-create a photo of Madonnafor her album Hard Candy, which had been altered so heavily that it erased every wrinkle and line in her skin.

3. Another went for a Ralph Lauren advertisement from 2009 in Japan. In the advertisement on the left her head appears to be larger than her waist, and her arms and legs thinned down.

4. The last guy wanted to re-create an image from Kim Kardashian which feature her nude in the desert for her website.
